Australia is facing an extinction crisis: more than 1,800 Australian animals and plants are threatened with extinction. Predation by feral cats and foxes, wildfire and feral herbivores are key factors driving the planet’s highest rate of mammal extinctions. AWC is implementing a radical science-based model for conservation – one that is successfully halting the decline and restoring populations of threatened wildlife, like the Numbat, Bilby and Purple-crowned Fairy-wren. Importantly, we are producing a higher ecological return at a lower cost.
